The Palacio de Granda School is a consolidated private institution founded in 1975, dedicated to the education of children and young people from 2 to 18 years of age and there are two different  ways to assist the centre: as a day pupil or as a boarding resident.

The school is located in the municipal district of Siero in the Principado de Asturias. Its complete infrastructure includes a full teaching complex and sports facilities unique in Asturias which offers its pupils a living, natural environment with spacious green areas. The science laboratories and the IT classrooms are totally equipped and are constantly being updated, as the pupils’ progress demands. The sports facilities include an athletic track. Sports’ courts, acclimatized indoor and outdoor swimming pools, grass football pitches, indoor courts with stage,  awareness and coordination activities, infant playground and wide recreational areas.

Amongst its principles we insist on the education of values, as they prepare our pupils with a complete solid education, as well as instilling ethical, social, moral, intellectual and physical values. Similarly, the school provides the pupils with the knowledge and compromise needed to form responsible adults, who will progress successfully not only into further education but into society. The bilingual programme commences from the early age of two where the language is developed in a natural and simple way as the pupil is in contact with the English language in an unforced environment which stimulates its acquisition. Palacio de Granda is characterized for promoting the practice of sport and Physical Education is vital for transmitting healthy and competitive values. Finally, the teaching and use of new technology in Information Technology where the school is constantly modernizing and updating all the aspects of information technology. From the age of three where the educational software is designed and conceived to stimulate the cognitive and creative needs of the children to the “university campus” which allows the pupils internet access.

Palacio de Granda is an Official Trinity Examining Centre and we prepare our pupils for the Trinity, Cambridge and French Alliance exams which reflect the levels the pupils acquire in language performance.

The Residency

The school has a modern Hall of Residence with a capacity for 84 students and offers an efficient, individual attention which is tutored by the school teaching staff and in turn allows them to organize and supervise the study programme. Student life at the Residency offers a full educational solution recommendable in our present society as it facilitates the acquisition of personal discipline and work and study habits. Furthermore living within a group obliges the students to respect and understand each other and to share experiences, studies, games .....

The sports facilities, the games areas and modern information technology take up an important part of the leisure time, communication and development of these pupils.
